Generate 3D Assets for Roblox using a free AI tool
Creating 3D assets for games is hard and time-consuming, but imagine being able to generate any 3D object for your Roblox game with just a simple image and a few clicks. Magic? No, it’s the power of AI 🔥.
Some examples of generated assets (video by InstantMesh Team)
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to use a cool, free online tool that turns 2D pictures into 3D models super fast (less than 2 minutes!). Here's how easy it is:
You upload a picture: choose any image you want to turn into a 3D model or generate this image with AI.
Let the AI work its magic: Our tool will analyze the image and create a 3D model.
Import into Roblox Studio: Boom! Your 3D model is ready to use in your Roblox game!
The best part? You don't need to know anything about 3D modeling or AI, and you don't need to install anything. The tool works entirely online and does all the hard stuff for you, so you can focus on making your game awesome 🔥.

Today, we're going to look at how to generate high poly Models, and in the upcoming version 2, we'll learn how to optimize these generated 3D models more.
For this tutorial, I'll be generating a giant rubber duck 🦆 as an example, but you can use any image you want to create your own unique 3D assets 🔥.
Let's get started!
Generating High-Poly Meshes (In Less than 2 minutes!)
This first approach uses an open-source AI called InstantMesh, that is able to generate 3D mesh from one images.
Step 1: Fire Up the AI Tool
Head over to our free online tool 👉 here
You can create a free account.
Step 2: Upload your Image
Choose an image of the object you want to create in 3D.
In my example, I want to generate a rubber duck, so I found one online.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for online, you can use Stable Diffusion to generate it.
Upload the image
💡 Tips:
If the picture has a background, tick “Remove background” box. This helps the AI focus on the object.
Step 3: Let the AI Work Its Magic
Click on "Generate" 🔥.
When it's done, you'll see your new 3D model.
Like what you see? Click on "GLB" and download it. This version has all the colors and textures included!
Step 4: Bring It to Life in Roblox Studio
Open your Roblox Studio project.
Click on "Import 3D".
Find and select the GLB file you just downloaded.
Click on “Import”.
Roblox will automatically optimize high-poly meshes (>10,000 polygons) by reducing the polygon count.
Now, just drag and drop your new 3D object into your game!
Voila! You now have a custom 3D asset in your Roblox game 🔥
Congrats! You're now a 3D AI Wizard! 🧙♂️🎮, you've just unlocked the power of AI to create amazing 3D assets for your Roblox games.

Since it generated OBJ or GLB, you can easily import them in your favorite 3D modeling software and improve them 🔥. I personally use Blender to improve my meshes.
However, with the v2, we will also add a new AI model that can optimize these models more (by reducing the number of polygons).
